Soundbars are designed to be hooked up to the audio outputs of your HDTV to basically replace the internal speakers. Your Sony receiver is an external amp/receiver to power external speakers. They are basically 2 different version of the same thing so they do not directly hook up to each other.

Receivers and sound bars are not compatable with one another...both have amplifiers built in and you cannot hook two different amplifiers together in an open circuit without causing major problems that can lead to equipment failure; damage to your speakers; and even an electrical fire...not advisable that you even try it....

A sound bar has red and white "plugs" on the back somewhere. It is called an RCA stereo cable. Small chance it could be different. No description given.
