First and foremost............you need a Screen Actors Guild card. ....known as a SAG tag. You don't get hired without one. Most Actors then get jobs thru agents.......unless they get picked off a Street corner by some deranged director, looking for "realism" or some great unknown or something. That, and by auditioning your azz off.....and building a resume. Take commercials, walk on spots, anything..........just to get a few credits. Each job, you get to know more people.......and make more connections. Keep your ear to the ground, and jump on opportunities.........don't wait for them to fall into your lap.......... my high school friend was in all the school plays......and dreamed of Hollywood. He actually did it.........moved out west...........started small.......two bit roles in cheesy soap opera's......and worked his way up to roles in Galaxy Quest and Men in Black.....working alongside A-listers. He didn't quite achieve the A-list.........but he was there........on screen, mixing it up with some big stars. It can be done.

Contact talent agencies and they will get you a profile and set up with auditions. Everbody wants to do this kinda thing, my friend was in small films and things like that, even commercials etc.
