In the owner's manual to the JBL subwoofer, there is a diagram that shows how to wire it to be driven by 2, 4 ohm rated amplifiers. This is how you want to wire the subwoofer. Do not wire it as a 2 ohm subwoofer. The amplifier will be run in stereo mode. For proper loading of the speaker drivers, the signal must be mono - so make sure you do not have a difference in left and right. Do not run the amplifier in bridged mode. Only run one subwoofer with that amplifier. Keep in mind that auto sound equipment, pro audio equipment and home audio equipment are not rated the same. Watts really don't equal watts when crossing types of equipment.

You don't use a sub without accompanying full range speakers.
