Be honest, and go tell him now, the longer that you wait the worse it is. If he found out you broke it and hid it from him, he would have less trust in you with your next laptop, if you just explain what happened and be honest, (he may not show it) but he will see your maturity in taking responsibility for your actions, he may be angry, but you should be calm and offer to pay to fix the screen.

I know it is not simple but It was done accidentally After all you are going to tell your FATHER not your enemy. if you tell him instaly without loss time he will light angry but i am sure he will also give you way for it. after this you just tell him i have place for it to repair. Dont't forget he is your father & he love you so don't fear to tell him. Last say Sorry. & after all done say him i am so scare for it but i know you are best father in the world.

Dont worry we all did it I once broke my dads brand new desktop 10 years ago lol. Anyways tell him like "dad well I sort of broke the laptop but I didnt mean to I tripped over something" bur get straight to point and also twll him uve done some research on costs and where to repair it. He might give u few restrictions at first once repaired but over short time itll fade away
