If it were my mother, I would just tell her that I would like to talk to a doctor about how I've been feeling lately because you aren't happy and you want help. I don't think you need to get too specific if you don't want to. I'm sure she would understand and that she would want to get help for you. As for your doctor, I wouldn't bring up right away that you have suicidal thoughts. Don't lie or anything but be careful with the way you do it so that they don't try to put you in a psych hospital. Be honest. Doctors are there to help you.

Hi Thalia, the best things that you could do for yourself is to sit down with her and have a talk. Once you do that you will feel much better and then the two of you can decide what the next steps should be to get you some help. You just flat out tell your doctor you need help. If you feel better about it maybe you can have your mom go in with you. Stay strong, you can do this.

Just say it simply and get it out there it's the best way. I believe you have great courage to do something about it before you've gone to far. If you don't tell someone I'm going to give you a picture of what my life is and your life could be. Tried to kill yourself 7 times in trouble with police to depressed to move anxiety because I've been in the house to long self harming for 3 years no therapy works anymore. I'm past the point of help even the psychiatrist said it I hope it all goes well for you :-)
