# How do I solve x/-7= -3 ?

• How do I solve x/-7= -3 ? Answer #1 | 08/02 2014 02:48 Hey mate, you could solve this equation by Sending the -7 over to the other side, so you can make x by itself, You equation should like X=-7*-3 You have multiple because you sent it over when it was dividing with x, when you send anything over the sign changes to the opposite sign. You then multiply both the factors and you get X=21 positive because 2 negatives is equal to a positive .

Answer #2 | 09/02 2014 18:52 x/(- 7) = - 3 - x/7 = - 3 => Cancel the -ve sign from both sides, then x/7 = 3 => Multiply both sides by 7, i.e. x/7 * 7 = 3 * 7 7x/7 = 21 x = 21 ...Ans.

Answer #3 | 08/02 2014 00:08 x=21 we want to get x by itself. in order to that multiply both sides of the equation by -7, this gets rid of the fraction on the left side of equation and only left with x on left side. then -3 times -7=21.
