best bet is to just download the toolkit here. its what i used to root mine back when i had it (have the 2013 now and used his updated one for this device) but, if you have the SDK set up, its fairly easy. open up ADB type fastboot OEM Unlock unlock bootloader (erases ALL data on tablet so back up your stuff) download a custom recovery (TWRP is my suggestion) rename it to recovery.img in ADB type "fastboot flash recovery (file location) then get the superSU 1.8 flashable zip and flash it in recovery and you should be good. but the toolkit does everything for you so just use that....just figured you should know whats going on during the process.

Rooting an android device can just take a few minutes of your time. But if you are not clever enough to choose the best software to root your android then you can subject yourself to and agonizing and tiring rooting procedure. Choose the most reliable and the easiest way to root your android.
