I would recommend you don't install the dishwasher at all. If the landlord ever sees it installed ... it then becomes part of the property and his. If you take it out, legally it's theft and he can sue you ... at the very least. Any installations made to a property become part of the property, in most places.

Now a days most kitchens are built with a single cupboard compartment (this single cupboard is meant to be used for a dishwasher just take the door off and slide the DW in) adjacent to the double doors under the sink. If this is what you have now, you might want to measure and see if it will fit.

If you're renting you need permission to alter the property period. Consult your landlord before removing it as they are generally NOT built in sections. My dad has done a fair bit of proffesional carpentry and the entire front section is all connected every 3- 4 doors.
