First of all Dell Motherboards are Dell Branded. It is very possible that the motherboard is not compatible with the new processor. That is the major drawback by purchasing a branded computer such as Dell, Hp, etc. Take HP for example. Their lowest end desktop computer is nothing more than a laptop motherboard in a desktop case. Power suppy is external like a laptop. To make matters worse HP solders the processor to the motherboard making it impossible to change without replacing both the motherboard and processor at the same time. You will be better off building your own computer and would be better satisfied.

Tbh I think it would have been best just to purchase a new computer.. Once a computer gets outdated, you would need to purchase a whole bunch of things to update it.
