Go to http://www.fidelity.com and click on Research then click Stocks.

All major brokerage firms provide this information. If you don't trust the people you do business with, don't do business with them.

You can start with a list of the S&P 500 components. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_S%26P_500_companies You can look for NYSE and Nasdaq companies here: http://www.nasdaq.com/screening/company-list.aspx You can also look for Market Movers, Most Active stocks, % Gainers and Losers: http://finance.yahoo.com/market-overview/ Until you open a brokerage account, this should get you going. But a trading platform downloaded from any major broker will have all of this information in one place. Download a free trial and take a look. You don't have to fund the account until you're ready.
