If she busted a hole in the door, by throwing a shoe, then it is just a 'hollow core' wooden door. Best thing to do ......replace the cheap door.

If throwing a shoe busted the door, is is NOT hardboard. If sounds like a HOLLOW CORE interior door, Replacement costs less than any repair that won't be visible from across the room.

Any repairs done to the door will Always be noticeable, It seems to me, like the door is a cheap, inexpensive compressed cardboard door, with a 'honeycombed' core. As mentioned previously any repair will always be visible, mainly because, you know exactly where the repair Is. My advice, cut the frustration and the faff-on, undertaking a repair, And simply purchase a New one. They are only about £15 from Wickes'. Here's a link,‎ .
