83.22 - 23.21 +5 -11.22 + 5.23 = $59.02 Sally now has $59.02 After her sister repays the final $5.99 sally will have 59.02 + 5.99 = $65.01 How much does her sister owe her? 11.22 -5.23 = 5.99 Her sister owes her $5.99 Even before her sister repays the final $5.99, Sally still has $59.02 - $42.21 = $16.81 Sally can buy the shoes and still have $16.81 left. Hope this helps.
Answer #2 | 20/12 2013 05:58
Yes she would, she would have 16.81 left over.

Just take this step by step. Write down the amounts in a column as you go along. She had $83.22. Then she paid $23.21 for a shirt, so SUBTRACT that amount from the amount she started with. Then she found $5: ADD that. Now SUBTRACT the amount that her sister borrowed. Now ADD what her sister paid back. And so on. Just go slowly, and think about each situation as you go along. Note the spelling of "paid", not "payed'.
Answer #4 | 20/12 2013 08:36
working: $83.22 - $23.21 (the amount is subtracted with the amount sally bought the shirt with) = $60.01 (she has this much amount left with her after buying the shirt) $60.01 + $5 (we add the amount she found as she gains from it) = $65.01 (the amount left with sally before her sister borrows money from her) $65.01 - $11.22 (we minus the amount her sister took from her) = $53.79 (the value after sally's sister borrowed money) $53.79 + $5.23 (we add this value as her sister pays her some money back) = $59.02 (money left with sally after her sister pays back) answers: how much does her sister owe her - $11.22 - $5.23 (her sister borrowed $11.22 and already has paid $5.23, so the remaining amount is left for her to pay) = $5.99 how much does sally have now before and after sister payed her back- amount sally has before her sister payed back: $53.79 amount sally has after her sister pays back: $59.02 would she have enough to buy a $41.21 pair of shoes if not explain why- the final amount of money she has left with herself after all transactions is &59.02 which is more than the $41.21, that is the value of the shoes, so, she can afford to buy those pair of shoes note* it will start to seem easy for you if you do the question step by step hope that helped
