The old fashioned advice of drinking more liquids, eating healthy, getting more rest is still your best bet. I think the cinnamon/honey works well. I just mix the honey with cinnamon and eat it though. Chia tea or other type of warm liquid helps warm your throat. You could try the home remedy of rubbing Vicks on your feet then cover with socks at bedtime. When you are stressed, you become more susceptible to illness. Try some meditation in a quite room. Use the phrase "I'm healthy and strong' as your mantra and repeat this as you get into a restful mediation mode. You can sit or lay on your bed to do this. Think about a fresh green meadow or a bubbling brook or the warm beach. Meditate for at least 10 minutes. If you fall asleep, that's a bonus. Take some Tylenol for the scratchy feeling or what ever you take for pain.
