No, impossible. If the original PS3 isn't working and you don't have a backup, all the data is lost. There is NO WAY to retrieve the data AT ALL. Putting it in a computer won't work as it's encrypted and the computer can't read the contents. Another PS3 won't read it and will just format it specifically for use with that PS3. So again, no, it's impossible to retrieve the data without the original PS3 working or you already have a backup. All you can do is sign in to your PSN account and re-download any DLC and re-sync your trophies. All other data is lost.

What Are You Transfering It To? If Its Another PS3 Then That Depends On Which PS3 You Have.

There is no way to access your data and transfer it to another ps3 , the ps3 data is encrypted so only the ps3 the hard drive is in now can read that data . The data can not be read by a pc or another ps3 . You could not even have transferred the data if you had backed it up using backup utility because that also is encrypted to the console and can only be restored to the same console ( i/e when doing an hdd upgrade ) the only solution is to fix the console you have and power it up , then while its still running connect to a new ps3 and use the data transfer utility ( this option lets you copy data to a new ps3 then deletes it all from the first ps3 ) , the ps3 you have now would need to be able to power up for at least 4 to 5 hours , longer if it has a bigger hdd than q20 GB now There is only one way to get the data you actually need ,the save files , to a new ps3 and that option is unavailable to you also ( if it wasn't you wouldn't be here asking about this ) , the option is playstation plus online storage .

You only had two options, neither of which will work for you because your PS3 is a brick.
