They came from modern day Eastern Europe/Western Russia. That area was Hunnic, Scythian, Germanic, and Aryan. Germanics are believed to be Aryan tribes who went westwards into modern day Germany, while the other Aryan tribes went to India and Iran. However, newer evidence suggests that the Aryan migration into India is a complete myth. For example, the vedas are the core beliefs of Aryans, and have sunk into Hinduism today. They were intended to be both History books, an lifestyle guides. The Vedas make no mention of an aryan homeland outside of India. The genetic and cultural similarities could just be a result of trade and minor migrations, not large scale ones like the Aryan migration. Many hunnic tribes also came to India in CE 500s to CE 600s. And the genetic similarities could also be a result of the Gypsies migration in CE 1000s.
