You should go see your local piercer and ask them to have a look. If you've used the wrong jewellery (straight or curved barbell) then, since it's a surface piercing it could be rejecting. I highly recommend not piercing yourself in the future and going to a professional.

I don't think you should worry about it too much. If its only a slight discomfort, I shouldn't be a no problem. people can have piercings for a long time with no severe infections or anything, but once in awhile feel some discomfort. I don't have any experience with finger piercings but I do get some pains with my ear piercings. I've had them for a long time, they heal well and I never had a bad infection. the jewelry probably just irritates it. Although I don't think it's something big to worry about,, a trip tongue doctors wouldn't be a bad idea. Best to make sure everything is ok.
