Ferrari makes all their engines the old fashioned way, by hand.

China now makes a lot of the components, a new plant will open there in late 2015.

The last Ferrari engine I know of that originated outside Maranello was the V6 in the 206 Dino, which Fiat built. But that was 65 years ago.

Yes they make their own engines and they are not opening a plant in China.They are premiering a car in china at the China Grand Prix.
