Yahoo says: "A "troll" is someone who intentionally and persistently posts inflammatory messages about sensitive topics to bait users into responding or provoke a confrontation. We also consider people to be trolls when they persistently misuse product features such as the ratings system to negatively target others." You will hear the term misused in talking about a good user who correctly reports violations. A good user who correctly reports violations, no matter how many, is NOT a troll. You can use it for a person who incorrectly reports many or targets another user incorrectly, but there are very few of these type trolls, mostly they exist in in P&S and R&S.

1. Making up outrageous stories to test people's reactions (Example: "I was shot in a bank robbery by police and won a $50 million lawsuit--should I hire a lawyer to help me manage my winnings?" or "A security guard beat me into a coma after I asked him what time it was--how was I being rude and why did he do that?") 2. Asking questions designed to upset or offend people (Example: "Why do black people stink?" or "Is it wrong that I beat my puppy for fun?") 3. Asking the same question over and over and over again despite it having been answered numerous times (Go to the Etiquette section and look for someone named Tippy) 4. Asking painfully obvious questions a braindead 3rd grader should already know (Example: "Are you supposed to turn your clocks back 3 hours for Daylight Savings Time" or "What happened on September 11, 2001 and why does everyone talk about it so much?") 5. Creating account only for the sole purpose of leaving rude or smartass answers to people's questions.
