I was sent when I was diagnosed with it. And return every 6 months during and after treatment.

After you are diagnosed you have an appt set up with an oncologist for the initial discussion of what your treatment will be. Your oncologist does your chemo with regular check ups. Your radiation oncologist maps out and plans your radiation treatments. If you have to ask why you see them at all, you've obviously not had cancer yet...

YES)I had bladder cancer in 09.I go to my Cancer Center in Lake City Fla.Every 3 mo:I had stage 2.No biggie.Check ups,Blood work ups,And every 6 mo:a P.E.T.scan.Better safe than sorry.I am 66 years old.
