I think this is normal for most fast food places. I have worked at two before and they were both the same. You should find another job with more hours.

I think McDonald's mostly wants warm bodies to man the stations. Unfortunately, it's pretty common for fast food jobs. Also (speaking as a former manager), it's much easier to get hours covered when you have 50 employees working 10 hours a week vs. 15 people working 30 hours a week. I suggest talking to your managers again, but be prepared to start job searching if nothing changes.

While you are still employed at McDonald's, apply at other places. Seems as if you have been locked into your slot and duty. You can do better.
