Sometimes yes. And this is because of our experience vs memory brain. When we experience something we are in the moment so we know the rate of our lives. However, when you are 40 and you remember back on your early years you can only pull on a fraction of your experiences. So what you perceive as your whole life is only about 5-10% . that means that the whole forty years leading up to that moment has really only existed TO YOU for about 2-5 years. As far as a day going by quick that has to do with internal task-time management. Let's say you have to get 10 things done in a day and you think in your head that each will take about 30 minutes. When the first five items take you 10 an hour each and you dont realize it, then when you look at the clock you perceive them to have taken about 2.5 hrs, but they actually took about 5 hrs. This also works the opposite to make a work day last forever!
