Paint the entire wall as if you only paint the one area, it will stand out more than the remainder of the wall.

IF you can get a close enough match to the original color AND you know what you are doing, you MAY be able to paint part of the wall without being obvious. In MOST cases, it is cheaper and easier to just paint the entire room.

If you can get the same paint color then it might work - but otherwise the whole wall.

Prime over it and paint the entire wall. If You don't use the primer the tree will continue to bleed through.

Not only will you have to paint the whole wall you have to do it with a special paint so the colors do not show through the new paint. The rest of the old wall has become dirty and discolored from age so no way will you be able to match it anyway.
Answer #6 | 22/12 2013 18:57
You won't never match the color. Best thing you can do is to prime over it and paint the entire wall. If you need painting tips, check this site here:

You will probably have to paint just the tree ... let it dry ... then paint the whole wall so the tree is covered well...
