The writing score is posted after the other scores. It takes time to grade the essays and your score will be sent to schools after it's completed.

There is absolutely no reason to bother applying to Duke if you've never taken the Written part of the test and it is required. Even if you were to take it in the future, it will be too late to get your scores in time for their deadlines: From the Duke Undergrad Admissions site: "Jan. 2 (Students should submit any existing test scores by this date. Duke will consider additional testing taken after the deadline but before decisions are made. The latest date for additional testing is Jan. 25 for the SAT and Subject Tests and Feb. 8 for the ACT.)" How could you not have realized that your written score would be necessary for your application? The need: Critical Reading, Math, Science, and English/Writing
