I do not agree with the previous answerers as there is not enough information to answer your question. You have to be out of the Uk for an entire tax year (6 April to 5 April) in order to be not resident in the UK and therefore not liable to UK tax. As we have not yet reached 5/4/09, I cannot advise. If you are resident for this tax year, you will be taxable on your worldwide income, with credit given for any overseas tax paid.

As fasr as I know, the answer is no. Even though you are a UK national and your home address if here, you are out of the country in Germany and work there. You are away for most of the time. The fact you pay income tax in Germany you cannot be double taxed in the UK. This is provided you are working for an employer on a salary and not your own business otherwise there are different rules under the tax treaty. I would get expert advice from a chartered accountant.
