Registered voters in the general public tend to identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by a margin of 48% to 43%. Religiously unaffiliated voters tilt strongly toward the Democrats over the Republicans, however. About six-in-ten unaffiliated voters (63%) say they are Democrats or lean toward the Democrats, while a quarter (26%) identify with or lean toward the GOP. This pattern is especially pronounced among atheists and agnostics. I personally am a Libertarian.

I could drone on about how we are merely people that lack a belief in the existence of any gods, and that is all ... or I could dare to suggest, that if I were to see a study, that I might expect more people of a general left-of-centre political stance to be atheist, rather than more conservatives. However.. with many exceptions either way. I tend to see it this way, as an Englishman that in the past was politically active. The English Conservatives tended to be pro-Establishment, including Royalist, Anglican, and were quite happy to say prayers (or to be seen saying prayers). The socialists tended to be split into the Christian socialists who were also happy to say prayers, and more radical Atheist/Agnostic socialists, who would stand still and silent during prayers.

The only way primitive religion exists today is through the child abuse of forcing it into very, very young children but thanks to better education and growing intellects so many teens are able to discover the truth, throw off the indoctrination and step into the real world! So atheism is not a conscious decision or a belief but a realisation! Atheists can beleive in anything without a god and are found everywhere!

Atheists do not believe in gods. That's it. That is all you can say about atheists and all we have in common. Keeping that in mind, it has been shown that atheists overall are better educated than fundamentalists and better educated people tend to be less conservative.
