A wider tyre will not necessarily provide benefits. A wider type will cause more resistance, which in turn can cause slower acceleration and thusly a reduction in fuel economy. Why not stick with the recommended tyre size of the motorcycle maker? Their engineers and designers spent a ton of time, energy and money determining the best sized tyres for your motorcycle.
