Male Flowerhorns are about twice as large as adults, often reaching a foot in length. Males over 3 inches start to develop koks, the humps on their heads they are famous for I have a foot long Red Dragon male with a hump as big as a plum. Some females get a tiny hump, but not until they are a few years old. Also, there is great difference in intensity of color. no matter which strain, the males can have spectacular colors, whereas females are much duller..
