A computer has RAM or system memory. That is for data. It also has video memory. That is only for video. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M is not dedicated graphics. It is integrated graphics. It allocates a base amount of 256 MB for video that is taken from the main memory during system startup. The video memory is 256MB, although the actual measurement in dynamic use might be as high as 380MB. "My question is will I be able to run games that require like 1 gig of VRAM efficiently? " No. A game may or may not run with 256MB integrated video memory. If it needs 1GB, it won't get it from this computer. <0-0>
