first of all , You are NOT insured if you let a unlicensed driver drive your car . What do think about that ? Your insurer will decline / not pay any claims at all. , It will be all on you . So , right now he is driving your car with NO insurance WITH your permission. . You are being EXTREMELY STUPID to the Extreme !!!!! What more do you need to know ? If i were you i would go get that car TONIGHT ! and drive it home yourself.

Answer #5 | 28/12 2013 20:01
If you are unaware of his license problems, and he does not live in the same household as you do, he is covered to drive your car on an occasional basis. If he is pulled over, or has other contact with the police, your car will be impounded, and you will have to pay the towing and storage charges. If there is an accident you will be liable for any damage not covered by insurance. Seeing as you now know that he does not have a valid license, you can be charged with allowing an unlicensed person to drive. It is time to go to the tough love method, and tell your brother that he is not to drive your car until he can prove to you that has a valid license, and is not doing anything that would put you at risk (drinking and driving) Be prepared to be treated as if you are the bad guy and are selfish, but you have to be responsible and protect yourself
