No. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that will not work and is not a good idea. Wood glue is designed for porous surfaces, not slick ones.

Honestly, Elmers would probably work better than wood glue. Wood glue is designed to partially saturate the adjoining surfaces and bond both inside the wood and between it. It cannot function properly if it can't absorb into the surface. For example, dried wood glue will simply peel off of any metal or plastic parts on tools. It will do the same to your plastic nails, and your real fingernails. However, Elmers, though not a strong bond on any surface, does bond to both smooth and porous surfaces alike, meaning that you can use it on your nails fine, though too much pressure on them will probably break them off.
