The Nikon L series are fully automatic. If you want aperture control the the P series probably have it and the D series (DSLRs) definitely have it.

Unfortunately, the Nikon L series cameras have no manual controls. This is the number one reason I dislike this series of cameras. But everyone thinks they need those huge lenses - which they do not - so they skip over excellent cameras such as the Nikon P330 - which does have manual controls, along with a lot of other advanced controls.

Aperture priority - no Shutter priority - no Manual exposure - no Manual focusing - no So basically no controls I would be terribly lost Now compare that with a Fuji SL300 bridge camera, where you have all of the above controls Besides, it also has an electronic viewfinder& uses a li-ion battery and not the AA batteries http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-FinePix-SL300-Digital-Optical/dp/B006TR0FCQ And yeah, Merry Christmas to you too Emma - happy clicking

Don't know enough about your camera? So cheat. Download the manual from Nikon and start reading. An electronic copy is also easy to search. https://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18172
