Your heart rate is good even the one in the 80s. Many peoples heart rates increase after eating. I would stick with the oatmeal etc. for the lower heart rate or add some of that fruit to the oatmeal. Generally, adding a bit of mashed banana to oatmeal will make it sweet enough so you can skip adding any sugar etc. and blue berries are quite healthy.

See your physician. I don't think it's anything serious, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.

I don't think so that heart rate goes up after having a fruit breakfast.As science said that breakfast should be light. Fruits are light and are suppose to be eaten in the morning hours.

I eat 3-4 types of sliced, fresh fruit every morning for breakfast—but I NEVER drink fruit juice. My heart-rate remains pretty steady. I wouldn't drink a 'smoothie' for the same reason that I wouldn't drink fruit juice...you're probably peeling and throwing away a lot of the goodness, both fiber and enzymes on the skins that help in the controlled digestion of the fruit and then you are mechanically and thermally destroying a lot of the fiber and other goodness, such as vitamins. The fiber in fruit 'encapsulates' a lot of the 'fructose' and makes its absorption a much slower process, so you *could* be getting "insulin spikes" from your 'smoothies'. I eat all stone-fruits (such as cherries, peaches, plums, apricots, etc), 'pome' fruits such as apples, quinces & pears (all with the skin on), oranges, pineapple, several types of melon and berries/grapes and whatever else is available or 'in season' at a decent price. No problems at all (touch wood!) I agree with Zach that you should check with your physician, and take whatever tests it needs to see if you have a problem.
