You can, but it will have to be funded by the credit/debit card tied to the account. It will still occur as an instant payment

I never keep money in pay pal. I go and purchase say at ebay, it takes me to the log in and it has the item, I hit pay, and pay it. It should default to instant pay...........but you know, I did notice it differnt last time I used it since they and ebay had changed somethings around. I just look and make sure my bank account is selected. I only have money in pay pal, if there was a refund, I just leave it in there usually for my next purchase and it will use that money and automatically take the rest from my bank account if its not enough. It doesnt matter really if its echeck or instant, the seller still gets their money all the same. I think the difference is, is how long it takes them to get it or take it out or something, but it doesnt change or affect your purchase.

It will depend on whether that paypal account is connected to your debit/credit card or your bank account. If it is connected to your debit/credit card, it will operate as an instant payment. If it is connected to your bank account, your payments will be made through the e-cheque service; this however is not instant, it takes an average of 3-5 days for the cheque to clear depending on your bank and the recipients' bank.
