You seem to have a good idea about what you should be doing, I like your approach, but that is a lot of weight to lose, so I would recommend that you work with your doctor to monitor your health and work with your school's physical education teachers to help guide you to your goal. Good luck and stick with it. It will be hard, so don't give up.

Keep a food journal and add up all the calories you eat for each meal. It must be kept accurately. Just eat 2000 calories per day and you will lose weight. You don't even need to exercise, but exercise will help. Walking burns about 100 calories per mile. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. I kept a food journal for seven months and lost 35 pounds, and I have kept if off for six years. Actually, I now have lost 48 pounds total--I am 6'2" and weigh 160 lbs. I stopped keeping the journal after seven months; I just keep the same pattern of eating. This method is extremely effective and doesn't cost anything except paper and a pencil.
