If your doctor clears you at meps you will have no trouble joining. You will be expected to do a few more tests (pulmonary function, spirometry) to ensure you have outgrown it. If you have a primary care now have them send you to do pulmonary function tests now which will show you do not have adult asthma. It's not uncommon for children to grow out of childhood asthma and it's a common enough misdiagnosis to begin with.
