In most of the United States the answer is yes, however, you cannot legally enter into a contract to purchase the vehicle. Someone can buy it for you or it may be a gift that can legally be registered in your name. Check with the website for the DMV in the state that you reside in for a more definitive answer. Good luck and drive safely.

Most certainly. You do not have to be of any particular age to own property such as an automobile. You legally can own property at any age. However, owning a vehicle does not do you much good if it cannot be driven. And for a vehicle to be legally driven it must be insured and then registered. Additionally, you must be 18 years of age to sign a legal contract. An insurance policy for a vehicle is just that, a legal contract.
