Are you sure that you have the right ratio of frosting to cake? Melt the candy melts, then dip the stick in them before placing the stick in the lump of cake/frosting mix. It will act a bit like glue, and help the cake pop stay on the stick. I'd recommend going to Youtube for some great instructional videos on making cake pops.

Well, with a cake pop maker, you shouldn't be crumbling the cake and mixing frosting. Just make the cake batter and pour the right amount into the moulds. Allow it to bake. To get the cake ball to stay on the stick, dip the stick into a small amount of melted candy melts and insert it in the cake. Let it cool, and it should hold well.
