Put a wash in wash out red toner on it first. I tried going from blonde to brown once and yes, it does go green if you don't replace the red pigments in your hair. You might not think you have them, but the fact you've got orange bits in it suggests otherwise. Or - you could use a brown which has red pigment in it. Like a copper or chesnut or something which has a red tinge in it. It's vital that you put the red in.

Make sure the brown dye you use has the word 'golden' in it. This will turn it brown. Any dyes with the word 'ash' will turn hair green. Nice and Easy do a nice golden brown shade, it's the dye I used from going back to brown from bleach blonde.

Make sure your not using an ash based brown. Ash based colors can turn your hair green. Gold has red tones in it. Neutral based are safe too just know it has all the colors in it to make neutral. Your orange tones may take the brown dye differently but not so much that it looks bad.
