NYC is a place where the neighborhoods are often divided by culture or ethnicity. Pick a neighborhood by it's culture and go on a food adventure. You could come to NY and choose to eat in a neighborhood where the residents are mostly Asian or Hispanic, Caribbean, Native African, Middle Eastern etc. It'll be fun.

Katz's Deli is much better than Carnegie in my opinion, and a lot more fun. You could also go to Lombardi's, which has the distinction of being America's Very First Pizza Restaurant.
