Aussies rarely tip as the minimum wage generally pays more the minimum wage of a job that expects tips to compliment the wage. Don't expect a lot of tips here.

I would try working both jobs and see how it works out. You will know soon enough. The more experience you get, the more you can work your way up. In all parts of the world, people juggle two or more jobs.
