Just keep using e-cigs and/or smoking and you will become addicted before you know it. So strongly addicted, in fact, that many smokers never succeed in quitting despite repeated attempts. Tobacco companies love e-cigs because they help get people like you hooked on nicotine, and they have bought several of the e-cig makers. E-cigs also help keep people addicted to nicotine when they are unable or unwilling to smoke, so they might return to smoking cigarettes again later.

"I remember back in high school they would say when you had one you would be addicted." - This is the result of a political movement (actually a committee) that was started officially in 1984 and was designed specifically to create an absolutely "smoker-free" environment. See: "Addiction is defined as mental or emotional dependence on a substance.", as Sanchit points out. There is a reward and benefit (as you've stated by "relaxed feeling" and others) system to nicotine that I'd imagine is why some find it so emotionally or mentally en-joyful it soon becomes termed as an addiction.

Of course not. That's why you're continuing to pursue it, and ask questions about it. Clearly, you are not interested in it.

Addiction is defined as mental or emotional dependence on a substance. Nicotine is the known addictive substance in tobacco, and researchers are looking for other substances that may also contribute to tobacco dependence.
