yes i was a host. and you really dont need experience. you just need to nice and helpful. I was a host and i greeted ppl by asking how they were and then sat them down and told them that thier waiter would be with them and i told them to enjoy thier visit and meal and to have a great day.

I've been a hostess. I loved it. It was easy most nights and fun. You just have to be friendly!

I have hosted before & one more very important tip is to be honest with the customers on the wait times, they will appreciate it very much! If you don't know, then check with wait staff or the kitchen, pending how the establishment is set up.

It's not hard at all, just make sure you have a big smile and welcome them. Ask them how their day has been going and try to be friendly. Take them to their table. (Ask them if this is an okay table for them). Sometimes they ask if the customer would prefer a table or a booth. If there's a wait time, let them know about it and give them a realistic time for when they can be seated. Basically, just try to stay as pleasant and friendly as possible.

It's a very easy job. You just greet customers and make them feel welcomed. Just like if you invited guest over to your house
