There are very dark skinned models out there that are gorgeous. Perhaps you could research them and learn how they embrace their skin-tone. I believe you are a gorgeous person and you shouldn't allow your friends or society to talk down to you. Those "friends" don't sound like good companions to me. I am very light skinned. I am irish and have a hard time tanning and i can't even find makeup foundations that are my color. Sometimes I get discouraged because I want to look like the tan models, etc. But Over time, I learned to embrace my inner beauty and enhance what God has given me. Look at yourself in the mirror and say good things to yourself and about yourself. think positive and positive things will happen.

Dark skin is beautiful ! These days I see a lot of praise towards dark skin ladies and their glowing chocolate skin. My skin tone is the same as meagan good, which is a very beautiful dark skin woman as well as brandy, gabrielle union, keke palmer and more. I know a lot of people say stupid stuff like "light skin is the right skin" or whatever but that's not true, everyone has their own beauty. Don't let people compare you to your sister, you are not her. EVERY girl goes through that phase where they think they're ugly, and then they grow out of that and accept themselves. Seriously, love yourself.

This is the age where people try to bring you down, but just remember to keep your chin up and push forward. Show them what they day doesn't affect you, and they will begin to stop, trust me...I have gone through what you have gone through. The friend that said that you needed to get 'tips' from your older sister is doing nothing but trying to bring you down...she probably knows that you are better that she is. That being said, being dark skinned is not 'ugly' and is actually very beautiful and exotic. As bouncy said, there are countless black models and singers who are gorgeous! Furthermore, having black skin has other benefits. For example, the extra pigment in your skin makes you highly unlikely to get skin cancer! Also, I have noticed (with many people I know), that people with black skin age much slower. Wrinkles and stuff are much less visible on black skin. Black skin is pretty, which is why people spend hours and lots of money trying to tan themselves!! Stay Strong and Merry Christmas xx
