no worries friend... a less number of people around u will not make an introvert. And being an introvert which push you to loneliness is a fall you can easily get up from. You mentioned about being with people whom you are comfortable with sharing your thoughts.. trying being someone whom others will feel ease to come and share theirs...concentrate on the listening rather than rumbling for a talk to make you fit into. When we listen,we will have a better picture of what we have around us and that will give you more confidence to let your guards of self conscious down. All the best.. :)

Nothing wrong with introvert which is a style of personality. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introvert However, it is an psychological illness if too introvert. Whatsoever, communication among peoples is a vital essence to human. Luke 8 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be evident, neither anything hid, that shall not be known, and come to light. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear; for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which it seemeth that he hath.

Actually, shyness is a psychological issue. Yes, Hollywood tends to smile on the person who is, but there is something more going on. It doesn't mean that they can not function in society, but the shy person, when probed, does NOT want to be shy. And because of that, I think that they should get some help. Usually, counselors say find a shared interest and go from there. The important thing is that this shared group get guidance.

Hi, From what I know, an introvert is someone who has a bigger internal life than external. It looks like there is a continuous range from introversion to extroversion. Everyone has both tendencies. But being shy does not necessarily mean being an introvert. If you think / imagine / visualize a lot and would rather prefer brooding on something than talking to someone then I think you are more on the introverted side. If you are, then according to me it is a very good thing. Almost geniuses have been introverts. But many geniuses have had a very painful life. As someone has nicely put "A genius is a meteor that burns up to illuminate the world". So I hope you don't become a genius, because that might just be something that comes with its share of pain. But if you identify yourself as an introvert, you can leverage that extra capacity that you have to do something in which you will have a natural advantage, like being a scientist. All the very best !!!
