Are you going to get sick and die if you stop? Is your body relying on it to where you can't stop without physically getting ill? No? Then it's not a proper addiction. Soda is disgusting. You should stop drinking it.

is because they taste sweet and we like sweet things (i don't remember the chemical principle behind it)... What if you make your own fruit juice at home? They are sweet but healthy and add a little fizzy water if you really like fizziness and if you buy fruit juice at the super market check out for the ingredients because not always they are made of fruit only but they are concentrated, they have water or and sugar and none of this is as good for you as the real juice

Try drinking something else like cold water. Fizzy drinks are carbonated and you dont need all that gas in your body. And some of those drinks have more sugar than you think. So try something else maybe green tea or cocoa or......something healthy like homemade fruit drink/juice.

the only option I see fit is to slowly wean yourself off the drinks. rather than have 3 drinks in one day try 2.5 drinks. and then a week later try only 2 and go down from there. both sugar and caffeine are addicting substances. you can also try to drink drinks with less sugar and caffeine added. remember when it comes to sugar and caffeine, more IS less.

It might help to know the kind of damage that soft drinks can cause. Soft drinks contain caffeine, sugar (including artificial sugar) and other chemical ingredients that make them toxic to the body in sustained amounts. While the immediate effects can't be felt, the toxins build up in the cells. Soft drinks are diuretics - they remove more water from the body than they contain. This may not mean much to most people, after all - what's the big deal about water? Water is a very big deal. The body is made up of mostly water, and every function in the body depends on water. Water has many functions in the body from transporting nutrients to all of the cells to removing metabolic waste from the cells. Water is the body's lubricating oil that prevents joint damage from arthritis. Water is instrumental in producing electrical impulses in the cells, along the nerve system and in the brain - it's ho the brain communicates with other areas of the body. When you become dehydrated (don't drink enough water), these functions become impaired and health problems result. Water is the most important resource the body needs to live. You lose about 1 qt of water each day through breathing and another 1 qt through kidney function. You're also losing water constantly through the pores as the body regulates its temperature. This totals over 1/2 gallon of water lost per day - and this water must be replaced. You may not feel dehydrated nor notice any health problems, but be aware that the body can take a lot of abuse before it just can't take anymore. Eventually, something has to give. When the health problems start, they could be anything from high blood pressure to diabetes to cancer or anything in between. Your best option is to take care of your health now, while you're not having any serious problems. When the problems start, it's too late. From there, it's a never-ending battle to fix the problems. It's a battle you're sure to lose. One final thing about artificial sweeteners. The body has been wired to recognize sweetness as a source of calories. When you eat sugar, the brain sets itself up to process the calories that follow. When you eat artificial sweeteners, the brain recognizes the sweetness and readies itself to process the calories. But when no calories come, it activates the hunger response to get the "promised" calories from food. This is why you see overweight people making futile attempts at losing weight, thinking that drinking diet sodas is doing some good. They're only kidding themselves.

You need to replace food addictions with something else. Try mineral water with fresh lemon juice and honey with lots of crushed ice for entertainment. I like crushed blueberries in mine too. Try adding natural fruit juices that are your favorites, like raspberry. You can also do mixed drinks using spitzer water and your favorite juices.
