Normally, locking all the doors and opening the driver's door with the key should deactivate the alarm if it's the factory setup. If it's an aftermarket alarm it needs to be removed.

You've only asked one question, which is, "Why put a keyhole on the door in the first place?" The reason is, it's cheaper to manufacture all the doors with what you call a "keyhole", than it is to do a separate run of special doors for those few models that don't need keyholes. Your implied question appears to be, how to get the alarm to stop going off when you unlock the door with the key. Nomadd has given you your answer. Your owner's manual will also have the solution, unless, as Nomadd said, you have an after-market system. In which case, there should be an instruction manual for that as well. Come to think of it, you wouldn't even be able to start your car if you don't have the Chrysler key fob, because it has a transponder in it, without which the engine turns off after 3 seconds. So you must have an after-market system. Having lost the fob for it, I suspect you have probably lost the instructions as well. Google is your friend.
