No, you have that wrong. In accountancy, it's the professional qualifications that really matter. You could have any number of degrees, even a PhD, but when it comes to doing the job, a professional qualifcation like ACCA or CA trumps it every time. In fact, much of the accountancy profession is off-limits to you unless you are professionally qualified. You say that ACCA requires extra exams in Australia, but that is just a conversion course. You will find if you want to be an accountant in public practice in Australia, your MSc will not be acceptable - you would have to take the professional exams of the Australian accounting profession.

You are totally wrong, ACCA is highly regarded in Australia. It is no different to the CFA qualification, in fact it is more recognised than CFA if you want to work abroad. Get real.

Well I'd say ACCA is more highly rated and applicable to a wider range of jobs in Finance. If you do an MSc in Finance you should investigate the exemptions that you can get
