You can't protect him against all germs. You can make sure he washes his hand frequently. Take some wipes and clean his hands often and take him to the bathroom to wash his hands before he eats anything.

Rub some anti-bacterial lotion on his hands, when he puts his hand in his mouth he will cringe at the taste left behind.

The only thing you can really do is wash his hands with soap and water regularly. You should also wash your hands with soap and water regularly to decrease the chances of spreading the infection to your son. Also, you should wash your hands after diaper changes to decrease your own chances of getting sick. Using hand sanitizer will *NOT* prevent anyone from getting the "stomach flu" because it does not kill viruses, so it is important to use soap and water. As for preventing him from putting his hands in his mouth, I think this would be difficult to do given his age. This is normal behavior for a toddler, and he is not old enough to understand concepts such as germs.

Alicia, I can't believe you posted this *again*, lol. Remember, there's no stomach flu. It's gastroenteritis. He'll be fine as long as he keeps his little hands out of the in-laws' mouths. Did you have a chance to speak to your husband about "in-law kissing"?
