I gotta tell you one thing about friends and insurance, because this is a cold hard fact. I was a broker for 15 years, and dealt with god knows how many thousand clients during that time. And everyone, absolutely everyone, has lots of friends who pay wayyyyy less than they do for insurance on the exact same vehicle. In fact they are also the same age with the same driving record and same 'everything', and they demand to know why they're paying so much more than all their friends. It's a well known insurance phenomenon. Ask any agent or broker, and I guarantee they'll know all about it too. I'm not calling anyone a liar, just misinformed. It's impossible for anyone, even an insurance broker, to know off-by-heart what all their friends are paying for their insurance and what the exact details of their rating and driving history are. Friends, by the way, will say lots of stuff - and they're about as well informed about those details as you are. Most of the time, they won't even know what their policy covers or how many factors are used in insurance rating. Don't worry about what your friends are paying, because they're not you and they don't own your vehicle. This is all about you.

£2,000 is a very cheap quote for a new driver with a 1.4 litre car - so low that I don't quite believe it. You must be living in a very low risk area.
