You should consider the alternatives and if you current business meets your financial needs you should not walk away just because you 'don't like it". Many people have jobs that they don't like but keep working because they want to eat etc. Going to college can be a very expensive thing that does not always work out well. Think about the alternatives and their risks before you decide.

Cleaning houses is NOTHING to be ashamed of, even for cleaners who don't own their own business. No person doing decent work should be ashamed of it. And your boyfriend is right in saying that status should not be your first concern, as well as that yo may be able to grow the business to a point where you are not doing the cleaning. However, with all that said, you are clearly not happy in your work. Do you really want to spend your life feeling this way? The experience you have had as a business owner will serve you well in whatever you may decide to do. Find something in which you will take more satisfaction.

Home services business like that are a large industry. You can build it to a large size and yes hire people to do the work, the biggest thing you need to do in business is market. You become the marketer and get others to do the work. Look at the design of bigger cleaning businesses, franchises like molly maid. The world needs more people like you who are creating jobs. While college is a good thing a college education will get you a higher paying job, you will still have to put in many hours a day and only get paid for the work you do. If you build this cleaning business model, and get others to work for you, then you will get paid for the work others do. Its better to get paid $1 for someone else labor, then you doing all the work yourself. Ask your boyfriend about this idea of duplicating yourself. If you have a business and are making money, you are in the top 10% of income creators in the world. And our economy is going to get better thanks to you. Rock on
